College Here I Come
Jim was so excited the whole day because Jim knew he was getting his letter back from Boston College to see if he got in to that college. Jim has always wanted to go there ever since he was a kid and that has always been his dream. His father has gone there and he wanted to follow in his footsteps. When Jim heard the school bell go off he raced home as fast as he could. He sprinted in the door and saw an envelope that said Boston College on it. He was too scared and nervous to find out what it was going to say. Before he could rip open the letter his dad told he that he had bad news and good news. Jim was freaking out because he didn’t know if the letter was bad news pr good news. He asked Jim if he wanted the good or bad news first. Jim told him he wanted the good news first because he couldn’t wait any longer without knowing if he got in or not. Jim’s dad told he that he had gotten into Boston College. Jim was so happy and all he was doing was jumping up and down with a smile on his face. When he tried to give his dad a big hug he realized that he wasn’t happy. He was scared because he remembered he hadn’t heard the bad news yet. His dad had to sit him down and tell him a long story about what happened at work today. His dad explained to him that he was fired from his job today and that it was going to be hard to get a new job. He was so sad that he had to tell his son the next part that he even started to cry. “ I know that you have always wanted to go to Boston College but we just don’t have the money right know because of what happened.” They had to save there money incase his father didn’t get a job soon. Jim was so disappointed to hear this news but he knew that his parents have always tried their best to do what he wanted. He was so sad that his dream was crushed that he didn’t leave his room for days. His parents couldn’t stand to see him this way so they both decided to go out looking for jobs. After two days of looking for jobs that couldn’t find anything but fast food restaurants that didn’t pay a lot. They knew they had to do something so they both got jobs and Burger King. It didn’t pay a lot so they knew if they wanted to get Jim into the college that he wanted to they had to work a lot of hours there. They worked there for 10 hours each a day and for 7 days a week. They got free lunch and dinner there so it helped them out a lot because then they only had to pay for Jim to eat. After two weeks of Jim’s parents working there they got so tired. They kept on working because they loved Jim so much and there was only 2 months left until college started for Jim. Jim never thought that his parents would be able to make enough money from working at a fast food restaurant to put him through college. After days and days passed it only got closer to when school would start back up again. When there was a week before school left Jim thought that his parents wouldn’t have enough money to put him in any college. When his parents came home they told Jim the great news that he would be able to go to Boston College. Jim couldn’t believe it and didn’t know how his parents got enough money. When Jim asked him how they did it they told him that when he went to sleep they worked night shifts. Jim felt bad that he made his parents go through all that trouble just for him but he was also happy that he was going to his dream college. Jim spent the next 4 years at Boston College and ended a millionaire. He paid his parents back every cent and thanked them because they made this all happen.
